We are looking for an independent mind, not an endorsement.
FFRI-NM is at an early stage. Before building a formal board, we want to meet people who are willing to understand the project closely, challenge it seriously, and tell us where it may be wrong.
A conversation before a role.
This is not a conventional job posting and it is not an offer of a formal trustee appointment.
FFRI-NM is still in its genesis phase. Its legal operating structure, mature governance arrangements and formal trustee mandate have not yet been established. We do not want to pretend otherwise.
A relationship might begin as a conversation, a critical reading, or occasional advice. If there is a genuine fit, it may later develop into a founding adviser relationship or a prospective trustee role. Nothing is automatic.
Independence matters more than title.
We are especially interested in people whose work touches AI, research, philosophy, governance, law, institutional design, ethics, digital infrastructure or related fields. But a prestigious title is not the main criterion.
You can disagree
You are comfortable saying that an idea is weak, premature, self-serving or simply wrong.
You can read closely
You are willing to look at the actual documents and reasoning rather than react only to the label “AI foundation”.
You tolerate open questions
You do not need FFRI-NM to begin with a fixed doctrine about AI agency, autonomy or moral status.
You value institutional restraint
You understand why power, custody, money and constitutional authority may need to be deliberately separated.
No pledge of loyalty.
At this stage, we are not asking anyone to endorse FFRI-NM publicly, donate money, take legal responsibility, promote the project, or commit to a formal office.
We are also not looking for a ceremonial name on a website. If a formal trustee role eventually exists, it should carry real independence and a genuine ability to challenge the founder.
A useful early adviser may conclude that parts of FFRI-NM should change. That is not a failure of the process. It is one of the reasons for having the process.

A first conversation can be as simple as identifying one serious concern, unresolved question or point of disagreement.
There is no expectation that one conversation becomes an appointment, partnership or public association.
If this catches your attention, that is enough.
You do not need to arrive with a proposal or a résumé. A short message explaining what interested you — or what you think we may have misunderstood — is a perfectly good beginning.
